Introduction to Ascel's Toolkits

Commissioned by ASCEL these toolkits have been developed and carefully curated with the expertise of consultants and library colleagues.

Each toolkit provides a suite of practical resources to inspire and guide library staff as they seek to improve their service offer.  The resources enable new staff to expand their knowledge and provide a fresh perspective for more experienced staff.

Bump Booster

This toolkit provides resources which include key messages, good practice examples and tips on organising sessions for those who work with parents of young children or parents-to-be.  It is designed to help parents and parents-to-be support their baby’s early speech and language development by reading and singing to their bump or small child.

Parents-to-be can read more about why talking and singing to your bump works.  They can get hints and tips about singing and talking with their bump, learn new rhymes and songs from a list recommended by other parents. Go there...

Rhyme Times and Seven Quality Principles

The resources in this toolkit enable library staff to assess and demonstrate the impact of library rhyme times on families.   Go there...
